Come for Penn State Behrend admissions information, stay for the solar eclipse!

Experience a once-in-a-lifetime event at Penn State Behrend. On April 8, 2024, Erie is in the path of totality for a total solar eclipse. For nearly four minutes, the afternoon sky will go dark as the moon passes between the sun and the Earth.

We invite prospective high school students and families to join us on this special day. Your visit will include an admissions presentation and campus tour. We hope you'll stay on campus for a bonus lecture with Dr. Darren Williams, Penn State Behrend Professor of Astrophysics. Visitors will enjoy a reserved parking and eclipse viewing space. Free eclipse-safe eyewear will be provided. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required.

Your day will include:

10:30 AM - Arrival and admissions presentation
11:00 AM - Campus Tour
12:00 PM - "The Science of Solar Eclipses", a talk by Dr. Darren Williams
1:00 PM - Lunch available for purchase at various campus locations
2:00 PM - Eclipse Viewing
