Admissions to Penn State Updates

4:00PM EDT Theatre Studies BA Information Session (College of Arts & Architecture, School of Theatre)

Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 4:00 PM until 5:00 PMEastern Daylight Time

This information session is designed for students interested in majoring in Theatre Studies at Penn State—a BA degree in theatre theory and practice. Hosted by our program faculty and students, this visit will answer all your questions about the BA, including how to apply.

Students in our program learn devising, directing, playwriting, and dramaturgy, and they take advantage of performing opportunities both within the School of Theatre and around campus. The BA is also Penn State’s home for dance studies.

For students interested in both theatre and another major at Penn State, the BA allows students the flexibility to incorporate a theatre degree into their other intended area of study. Our current students’ double majors include Comparative Literature, Finance, Hospitality Services, Parks and Recreation and Broadcast Journalism. Students who major solely in Theatre Studies often add a minor such as the College’s Arts Entrepreneurship minor. Many of our students study in London during the spring semester of their third year.

Penn State's School of Theatre also offers BFA degrees in technical theatre—which includes stage management and design/technology (costume, lighting, scenic, sound and technical direction)—as well as BFA degrees in Acting and in Musical Theatre. For more information, please complete this form
