High school students, adult learners and transfer students will learn about their unique nursing options at Penn State to earn both their RN license and bachelor's of nursing. This event will be broken into two tracks:

Track 1: Earn an RN and B.S.N. in four years

In this session, you will learn more about the Sharon Regional School of Nursing and Penn State Shenango partnership. Topics that will be covered include:

    • The admissions process
    • Financial aid
    • Information about Sharon Regional School of Nursing

Track 2: B.S.N. completion program for working RNs

Already an RN?  Complete your B.S.N. with our flexible program that has been designed with working RNs in mind. Hear from faculty Amy Nagy and Maureen Dunn about how your RN credits can transfer into our B.S.N. completion program. As part of the open house, RN's will be invited to participate in a free Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) course.*

In this NCPD course, guests will learn about Work/Life Balance to Manage Stress.  At the end of the session, the learner will be able to:

    1. Define work/life balance
    2. Identify stressors
    3. Summarize tools to mitigate or manage stress
    4. Discuss self-care strategies to find and maintain balance.

    * Pending approval for 1.0 NCPD from the College of Nursing

Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is approved with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association Approver Unit, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Presenters, organizers, and content specialists have indicated no conflict of interest. Participants with a valid RN license who attend the entire session will be awarded up to 1.0 contact hours of continuing nursing education; partial contact hours are not awarded.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
